Meet the Photographer…
I am so excited you’re here, and wanting to get to know me!! I know picking a photographer is incredibly personal, so I want to make sure we are the perfect fit!
I am Lauren Mackenzie. I am a custom, natural light, photographer! I live in Canton, Ohio with my fantastic husband Alex and our fluffy toddler/cat Magnus! We are a couple who loves being outdoors, and in nature. Hiking, kayaking, camping, or back porch sitting are some of our favorite things. When I’m not working, I’m one of those people who has too many hobbies for her own good. Often you will find me in a pile of art supplies crafting or feverously noting down everything I can about my new interest. One thing that has always stuck with me, since I was little is photography!
How did i get here?
After a childhood full of taking photos and scrapbooking, I knew the precious ability of photography to capture a heartfelt moment in time. I started photographing others in 2009 at the ripe age of 17 and fell in love with the intimacy of portraits. After high school, I received my BFA of 2D Arts at Bowling Green State University in December of 2014! My thesis work is mostly landscapes taken with a Large Format 4x5 Film camera, and I was lucky enough to expand on my passion by teaching film photography workshops. Analog/Film holds such a huge space in my little photographer heart.
MY APPROACH
is focused on creating a timeless story, highlighting the authentic and emotional connections between Humans. I prefer to tell your story without the pressure of staged or forced poses, using natural light to create soft, unfiltered images that feel true to who you are. Offering a storytelling approach to wedding photos that focuses on honest moments, the kind that you’ll cherish for years to come. i work closely with my clients to ensure their day feels relaxed, effortless, and natural. My goal is to capture each moment as it unfolds, allowing you to feel completely at ease while I document your love in a soulful, timeless way. Its amazing to get to spend an hour or two with someone getting to know them, with plenty of laughs, and show the best in them to the world.
